Face carved by hand from newly bound pages of old books.
Like all my book faces, this one is unique in form and expression, carved intuitively and without templates.
The pages are only glued to the spine and are open on three sides, i.e. movable like a conventional book
The proportions of the face can therefore change when you run your finger over it, but move back in place.
This sculpture can be set up or hung.
The cover is black dyed leather, a hanger is incorporated at the back for hanging directly on the wall or in the optional wooden frame.
To enhance the sculptural depth and expression of the face, I partially paint the front edges of the paper. . The effect of the facial expression can be individually influenced by adjusting the lighting. The object can either be set up, hung in the frame or hung directly on the wall. The optional 30 x 20 cm frame for this object is made of beech wood and painted (anthracite on the inside and white on the outside). The front edge can be painted silver, alternatively gold or another color.
